FAQ

  • Is this legitimate?

Yes. Unclaimed funds are held by the New York State Comptroller. You can verify this directly at www.osc.state.ny.us. Our services are provided under New York Abandoned Property Law §1416.

  • Can't I do this myself for free?

Yes, you can claim this yourself for free. Our clients use us because the process is complex, tedious, and time-consuming. Oftentimes, the OUF requests additional documents following submission, prolonging recovery by up to three months. We handle all forms, research, filings, and follow-ups to guarantee accuracy and maximum recovery. This saves you valuable time and eliminates mistakes.

  • Why don’t you know the exact amount?

The Comptroller keeps amounts confidential until a claim is filed and ownership is verified. After a claim is filed, only the owner or authorized agent can access this information. This protects account holders’ privacy.

  • How do I know I will receive the funds?

The Comptroller issues a check payable directly to you or your business. Checks are typically mailed 6–12 weeks after claim approval.

  • What is required to get started?

Our first steps require the signing and notarization of an Authorization Agreement, enabling us to prepare and submit your claim. We coordinate a date and arrange for a notary at your convenience.

  • What information do you need from me?

Required documentation varies case by case, but at minimum, a form of identification and proof of ownership for the underlying asset being claimed.

PLEASE NOTE: We will never ask for your SSN or any compromising information.
